The Complete Communicator programme is the definitive answer about how people should prepare their thinking around the communications challenges that business continually presents.

What must your people understand and what must they do to be better equipped to handle and better able to do their jobs?

The programme examines what people really need to change - personal style, approach, message construction, audience awareness and so on - to become better at their jobs. It then inspires confidence and fosters skills through practising how to change, how to prepare for change and how to handle its effects.

The goal is not a better intellectual understanding of what changes are required for each individual. The intention is to prepare an effective framework for mindset and changed behaviours through interaction, simulation and practise. Participants quickly arrive a point where they see the need for change and the benefits and will want to make the changes work in live situations immediately.

Programme features

To ready the process of change requirement we use the Impact, Connection and Essence (ICE) model as a framework for participants to work around.

The message is simply that participants are clearly in the business of influence.

Thus, the degree of success they enjoy is governed by the quality of the job they do. This needs to be considered in direct relation to the impact they make as presenters, in all the ways they connect with the needs and concerns of their audiences and in what they actually say and promise to do.

The arc of an individual’s influence is governed by the subtlety of the inter-relationship between Impact, Connection and Essence. Understanding this interplay can significantly enhance an individual’s effectiveness, all-round performance and business contribution.

Who the programme is for

Often, the programme participants are skilled and seasoned professionals who are highly successful and have well developed views (both right and wrong!) about their own communication abilities. Others may well be just starting out on the management and leadership ladder. All have something still to learn.

Essentially, the programme is designed to:

  1. “Clear the decks” and encourage every participant to “let go” if they are to improve their skills way beyond the commonplace and ordinary.
  2. Create the understanding in every participant that communication is the bedrock of everything they do if they are to be truly successful.
  3. “Free” participants to approach any type of ‘presentation’ scenario and apply a learned personal process to their communication efforts to perform as a complete communicator (ie: the application of the ICE Impact, Connection & Essence and criteria).
  4. Provide tools, templates and techniques that enable every participant to understand ‘what a really professional communications job looks like’ and to have the confidence to develop their skills to progressively higher levels.
